Myceane
Mycenae is an ancient city of the prefecture of Argolis and a kingdom of the mythical Agamemnon. Excavations carried out in 1876 by pioneer of archeology Erik Schliemann confirmed the stories and myths bringing to light much of the glorious history of Mycenaean civilization. The archaeological site of Mycenae is the main attraction of the area and one of the most important of Argolida. Mycenae is today a small village of about 450 inhabitants, about 23km from Nafplio.
